The Gaming Floor
Our casino on Forth Street runs a straightforward mix of live and electronic gaming on one level. You will find staffed blackjack and roulette tables, a bank of electronic slots, and LIVE e-tables all laid out on the same floor and running during our usual opening hours. The live tables follow standard UK casino rules and are dealt by trained croupiers who manage the game and payouts.
Right alongside those tables sit the electronic gaming terminals. If you prefer to play without any rush, or just want to tap away at your own pace, you can take a seat there instead. It is all in the same space, so you can move between live tables, slots and e-tables without feeling like you are switching areas all night.
The Late Bar is built into this layout as well. Drinks are served throughout your visit, and you can move between the bar area and the main gaming floor with no special checks or extra doors. For us it is one combined space - gaming and socialising together - and on a busy Friday or Saturday night that mix tends to work quite well.
| Gaming Format | What It Is |
|---|---|
| Live Croupier Tables | Staffed blackjack, roulette and card games |
| Electronic Slots | Self-service slot machines on the casino floor |
| LIVE e-Tables | Electronic table games with a real-time live feed |
| Late Bar | On-site bar service throughout casino opening hours |
The overall setup is simple. No complicated membership tiers, no hidden VIP rooms you have to find. You walk in, choose the style of game you want to play, order a drink if you like, and settle in.
Location and Opening Hours
Our venue sits on Forth Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 3NZ, just behind Newcastle Central Station in the city centre. If you are arriving by train, it is an easy walk - usually under five minutes from the station exit to our front door. There are signs to Forth Street around the station area, so you are not wandering too far to track us down.
We open from 12pm every day. Closing times change slightly through the week: from Wednesday to Saturday we finish at 4am, while from Sunday through Tuesday we are open until 5am. Live table gaming can start a little later in the afternoon depending on the day and staffing, so if you are coming mainly for blackjack or roulette, it is worth giving us a quick call first.
| Day | Opens | Closes |
|---|---|---|
| Wednesday - Saturday | 12:00 pm | 4:00 am |
| Sunday - Tuesday | 12:00 pm | 5:00 am |
There is paid parking nearby, including NCP facilities and some street-level spaces within walking distance. Metro links into the city centre are close as well, so you can easily combine rail, metro or bus if you prefer not to drive. By most local standards, the Forth Street address is about as central as you can get in Newcastle for a casino.
Planning a Visit
You do not need to book in advance for general access to the gaming floor. Walk-ins are completely normal here, even in the evening. A few practical points can make the visit smoother, especially if you are new to casinos:
- First get yourself into Newcastle city centre, usually via Newcastle Central Station by train, metro or road.
- From the station, follow the signs or navigation towards Forth Street - we are directly behind the main station building.
- Head to Forth Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 3NZ, and look for the Genting Casino Newcastle entrance.
- Have valid photo ID with you. Door staff may ask for it, especially if you appear under a certain age.
- Once inside, make your way to the gaming floor and pick what suits you - live tables, slots or the electronic terminals.
- When you want a break, use the Late Bar at any point. You can return to the floor afterwards without any fuss.
- If you have questions about events, promotions or table times, call us on +44 (0)191 232 0900 before you set off.
One small bit of general advice: if you are visiting a casino for the first time anywhere, it usually helps to decide on a rough spend limit before you arrive, rather than trying to settle on it once you are already at a table or machine. It sounds basic, but in practice people skip it more often than they mean to.
Our main phone line is there for day-to-day questions - things like table availability, any scheduled events, or confirmation of opening details for a specific date. We also maintain our Facebook page under the name “Genting Casino, Newcastle”. That page focuses on what is happening at this particular venue, separate from the wider Genting brand channels.
